What do they offer?

Among other items, Crystal Chalice carries crystals, jewelry with meaning, spiritual books, tuning forks and crystal bowls, but it is the three women owners who offer what people seek. “We provide the spiritual tools for whatever their needs are,” said co-owner Karen Jackson-Everette. “We are an ascension support store.”

“The experience here is an ‘unfoldment,’” said co-owner Kelli Elliott. “Customers start out with a CD or gratitude candles and come back for more. They might want a private session with one of us, or HeartMath. Locals sit in the community garden behind the store. Sometimes they leave offerings. We have had festivals, celebrations and weddings there too.”

“We strike up a conversation,” offered the third co-owner Jan Cercone. “People lead us by their energy. We are a chalice. We refill. What we do here is profound. The spirit is sending them in because their heart and higher self is asking for assistance with the next step.”

Who are they?

Karen Jackson-Everette, co-founder of Gratitude Power, which specializes in gratitude education for schools, individuals and business through seminars, workshops and special events, is originally from Kentucky and remembers stories told around the camp fire about her Native American Shawnee ancestors. She grew up in the Oakland area and majored in business at San Jose State and Stanford. Business analyst training development landed her in the corporate world. After spending twelve years at Stanford as an analyst, she is now a certified Appreciative Inquiry consultant.

Five years ago, the same dream three nights in a row caused her to shift to the spiritual. The words “Awakening to Gratitude” were written in fire in her dream. Guided by that dream, she started Gratitude Power. “My role now is to teach people to live from the heart,” she said. She has an e-book, CD, and a new online course called “Path to the Heart.” She said, “My goal is to present to the world a unique pathway to success through the action of gratitude and giving.”

Kelli Elliott, whose Chickasaw grandmother was a healer, specializes in the healing properties of crystals. She came from Oregon to Marin, and has a business background in engineering. “My grandmother took the time to direct and educate me, but it was intuitive. She taught me to work with the earth and how crystals create a balance. I grew up on a ranch. Being a project manager for a large corporation gave me structure. Now, I’ve come full circle utilizing Feug Shui and Geomancy. I connect people with the mineral kingdom to reveal information that will enhance their ascension experience,” she said.

“People come in to hang out by the crystals. I match them with the proper ones. Many kids buy crystals with their allowance and tell me they can hear them. I am impressed with their knowledge and perspective. Just this weekend, a boy from Sacramento was visiting his godmother in Marin, but wanted to find the perfect crystal first. His mother called the day before to see if we would open an hour earlier than usual. We did. He settled on an Eelestial Smoky Quartz, just the right size to fit into his hand and pocket,” Elliott said.

Fairfax resident Jan Cercone, RN, MA, CMP, founded the Song and Spirit Sound Center in Novato. An author, international workshop tour leader and recording artist, the former nurse first discovered the power of vibration and sound when tending to hospice patients. Feeling that music is divine medicine, she brings sound and vibrational healing education to Crystal Chalice, where she works with tuning forks to bring specific frequencies that activate and harmonize the body on all levels.

She also uses crystal bowls to help heal the heart. When asked if she means healing the physical or emotional heart, Cercone answered, “You can’t separate them. I combine sound, spirit and science to shift emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of the body.”

Cercone, who has students all over the world, is off on a global tour in September. In Costa Rica, she will sing with the dolphins, who are sure to be drawn to her beautiful voice. “I studied anthropological singing for twenty years to take the ego out of the voice, so it is just the cosmic form. Sound is the bridge between worlds. It’s the only thing unchanged from heaven and earth,” she said.

She hosts a sound circle at Crystal Chalice on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. and also does private sessions in the Ayeh SaRa Healing Dome behind the store.

How long have they been there?

The original owners, Dea Rackley and Jennifer Jackson, who have retired to Hawaii, opened in downtown Fairfax in 2008 and worked often with the three current owners, who took over last October.

"The three of us offer our expertise in crystals, sound and gratitude," said Cercone, "and we also have many speakers and events."

Why are they business of the week?

“People come from all over the world. They feel safe here. They trust us. Everything is confidential,” said Jackson-Everette. “Gratutide Power provides the tools to create a heart-focused life using gratitude as the seed for developing a path to joy and prosperity.”

“Using crystals, I set a balance for people,” said Elliott.

“I help you remember,” stated Cercone. “I hook people up with their divinity.” With practical yet profound methodologies to teach people to re-align and lift their own energy field, she feels she is a facilitator.

Each owner works in the store several days a week, and each is available for private sessions. All three will participate in the concert “Be the Light” at the Nexus in Richmond on July 31.

Check the main Crystal Chalice website for details on that, and ongoing evening events, one on one sessions, or weekly speakers.
