Candidates Begin to File for November Ballot

Deadline for nominations is Aug. 12, but extensions will be made in any races in which incumbents have chosen not to run.

Election season is underway in San Anselmo and Fairfax for nearly a dozen local positions on the ballot in November. And the deadline for candidates is drawing close.

Today, Aug. 12, is the deadline for candidates to take out papers and file declarations of candidacy and statements of qualifications. However, there is a five-day extension until Aug. 17 if incumbents do not file their papers by today.

As a number of incumbents have already declared their intent not to run publicly, it is expected the deadline will be extended for the Fairfax Town Council, San Anselmo Town Council, and races.
