Get Out: Patch's Weekend Planner for June 30-July 4

Are you looking for something to do this Fourth of July weekend? Check out some of the things on the San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch calendar and see if there's something for you.

Friday: San Anselmo Organic Farm Stand

Bring your bag over and shop at the San Anselmo Farm Stand for seasonal, organic and locally grown vegetables and fruit. Additionally, the farm stand carries artisan cheeses from Cow Girl Creamery, brick-fired breads from Brickmaiden Breads, McEvoy olive oil and more. Local sustainability is Marin Community Farm Stand's goal, weaving a growing communal web that unites local farmers with local tables. The farm stand will open every Friday until the end of October. Go local!

If you go: The farm stand is open from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the San Anselmo Town Hall lawn, 525 San Anselmo Ave. in San Anslemo.

Friday and Saturday: Film Night in the Park: 'Breaking Away' and 'Princess Bride'

Friday night’s film is Breaking Away, a charming coming-of-age story that follows a high school graduate unsure about what to do with his life. It won the 1979 Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the film is ranked eighth on the List of America’s 100 Most Inspiring Movies compiled by the American Film Institute. Not bad.

Saturday’s film is Princess Bride, based on the 1973 novel of the same name by William Goldman and is a tongue-in-cheek fairy tale depicting stable boy-turned-pirate Westley's journey to rescue his one true love, Buttercup, away from an evil prince.

If you go: The free films begin at dusk so get to Creek Park by 8 p.m. and set up your low chair or blanket. Creek Park is at Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Center Blvd. in San Anselmo. Visit filmnight.org for more information.

Saturday and Sunday: Marin/Scapes Fine Art Exhibit & Sale

This is the only annual fine art exhibit and sale that exclusively features the beauty and spirit of Marin. Now in its 23rd year, this popular event offers works by more than forty of California’s top fine artists and photographers including Willard Dixon, Kathleen Lipinski, Steve Emery, John McCormick, Teresa Dong, Davis Perkins and more. Many artists will be at the show to meet art lovers and discuss their work. Enjoy a complimentary selection of fine wines and cheese. A portion of every Marin/Scapes art purchase is a tax deductible donation to Buckelew Programs.

If you go: Tickets are $15 per person. The event is from noon to 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the Historic Escalle Winery, 771 Magnolia Ave. in Larkspur.

Monday: Ross 4th of July Celebration

The annual day-long celebration kicks off with a fun run at 10 a.m. at Deer Hollow. The neighborhood parade follows at 11 a.m. -- heavily dominated by kids with water guns -- and ends at the Sleepy Hollow clubhouse, where everyone gathers for a BBQ. The adult cocktails and oysters start at 5 p.m., followed by another BBQ, and goes until who knows when.

If you go: Keep in mind some events are only open to Sleepy Hollow homeowners, but the parade is free. And, who doesn't have a friend who will let you crash at their place?
