As the holidays get started, you can get a head-start on the holiday shopping season this weekend. Looking for something to do? Check out our San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch calendar.
There's lots of chances to get your local shopping done early with an after-hours shopping event at the new Velvet Ice (inside Avant Garde) on Friday evening and a five-year anniversary celebration at Siren Salon on Saturday night.
Several local artists will also be participating in an annual holiday art and gift sale in Larkspur at the Skylark Apartments on Saturday and Sunday.
If you want to buy a few bottles of wine (hostess gifts, a little drink after work, or stock up for a holiday party) and support the Ross Valley schools at the same time, then head over to the Yes! Foundation's Savor & Select Wine Tasting and Sales event at the Pavilion Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Take a break from your shopping and drinking to take in our local treasure, U.S. Poet Laureate and Fairfax resident Kay Ryan will speak at Dominican University Friday at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Marin County Free Library branches, including Fairfax Library.
