Hats Off At This Parade

Gentleman Do Exist! Giants vs. Halloween! Decisions, Decisions!

Not Overhearing Anything

Sitting at the Roastery in Fairfax and I am seeing a lot of black, but not a single stripe of orange. And I am not overhearing a word about the game last night.  I know there are fans in Fairfax -- they just must not be out and about at the moment.

See and Be Seen

All the elementary schools are having Halloween parades today, but they are sure to be inside with the storm front we have rolling in. I am looking forward to Wade Thomas'. All the students and teachers bring their costumes to school and dress up after lunch, then the whole school parades around campus for everyone to see and be seen. Parents come out in droves and it is so much fun to observe the creative, silly, and scary costumes the kids come up with. Brookside's upper and lower campuses have theirs today too, and are also making arrangements around the rain.  Not sure about Manor, though I imagine it's much the same.

WOW! What A Game!

Had fun watching the shut out and texting friends who were at the ballpark last night. Sorry for the pitcher who had the blister (also, sorry they had to show him picking at it close up in the dugout - ick!), but glad the Rangers sent in their 'best' pitchers for the situation after that!

What To Do Sunday?

Trick-or-treating OR watch the World Series  game 4?

Decisions, decisions!

Hats Off To That Gentleman

A blind woman just stuck her head into the Roastery with her guide dog standing outside and asked something I couldn't hear from where I sit, but I could hear a very nice young gentleman offer assistance as he graciously put his coffee down and stepped outside with her. I watched as he put her hand on his arm and walked her safely across the street. I just love seeing things like that!

Stop!

Wasn't as impressed with the girl in the white van; she barely slowed down to roll through the stop sign as the pair stepped into the street across the walkway from her. After seeing that I can understand why the blind woman asked for help!

Come on folks, it's raining and, really, a full stop only takes a second longer!

Lighten Up

It is usually the women (I can type that, being one and all!) who overload on the perfume, but I am about to have to leave because of the "Drakar" cologne that just walked through the door around a man who came in. Yikes, that's powerful!  And still is even after he got his beans to go! Brings me right back to high school and not in a good way!

Diagon Alley in Fairfax

Revolution 9 is creating their very own Borgin & Burke shop in Diagon Alley this weekend. If you are not one of the millions of fans, it is a part of the Harry Potter world and a scary one at that. On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. the back room is open (and FREE!) to all that dare enter the famous shop where dark magic is traded and sold. I am told there might be a bit of magic from some shady witches and wizards, so beware!
