Noodle Soup Moves Online

And a Sweet Life to come soon.

Noodle Soup Online

If you lived in the area for over five years you probably remember Noodle Soup, the darling children’s clothing and gift shop located at 722 San Anselmo Ave. where the Marin Running Company now lives. And, if you are a regular mall-goer in Corte Madera you’ll remember the same in the Town Center, which closed up about a year ago.

Pam Sturges, the owner with the incredible eye for great kid’s fashions, has not disappeared; she has simply taken a bit of time off for her family commitments and has thankfully opened up a Noodle Soup website.

It is simply delightful site that includes a blog, recipes and, most importantly, clothes for babies and kids. Looking for the perfect Halloween costume? This is definitely the place to shop. Need the perfect gift for the neighbor’s newborn? Count on finding just the right thing at noodlesoupchildren.com without having to leave the house.

We wish Pam and her new venture in retail the very best of luck.

This is Agony

My hopes were so high when I drove past the soon to be Sweet Life on San Anselmo Avenue near the (maybe soon-to-be-closed) Post Office and saw lights on and a small gathering of folks inside. When I poked my head in to inquire about the baked goods I learned we all have to wait at least another three weeks more before the doors are officially opened. It will be continued torture for this bread and pastry lover, but hopefully worth the wait.

Absolutely Lovely

The new building that will house Amazing Grace Music on the little island across from United Market is going to be absolutely lovely. I would have been happy with simple stucco, but George Lucas and his designers have incredible taste and are putting up a stone face instead and it will be just beautiful. I am really looking forward to seeing what sort of green park-like setting will then grace the area where the current Grace Music building sits. Thank you, Mr. Lucas.

What We Need

I just got back from a quick weekend getaway in San Diego and lucked upon the most incredible manicure and pedicure I have ever had in my life. I figured for the total cost of $55 that I would be in and out in under an hour, but ended up being pampered for two. The attention to detail, the massage, the polish, and the fine corrections at the very end blew me away.

Now, granted, I had been working my fingers to the bone on our house remodel and getting it market ready, so anything was going to be an improvement, but this treatment was and will forever remain in my mind as the very best.

So, what I believe we need here are fewer over-priced nail ‘factories’ and more, heck, even just one, really great salon that specializes in absolutely amazing and reasonably-priced manicures and pedicures.
