Weekend Update: Serial Killer, Town Declares Emergency, and Mountain Lion

Catch up on all the news you might have missed during the week.

 

This week started out with news of a missing San Anselmo boater off the coast of Ocean Beach. The US Coast Guard called off the search after 8 hours. Later in the week, the missing man's girlfriend found herself in a bizarre situation where the police had to remove her from a locked garage.

Fairfax resident Dave McDonald pleaded not guilty to charges of making meth after a raid on his Mill Valley store earlier this month. He was also denied release and the DA made the suggestion that some of the drugs may have been fake.

Marin officers arrested a suspected serial killer this week, who will be charged with four murders -- the body of one woman was dumped on White's Hill back in 1977. 

Judy Coy looked back on the history of San Anselmo Town Hall -- and why San Anselmo is a town and not a city.

The Marin Humane Society Thrift Store celebrated 50 years of history and giving back to the animals in the community.

San Anselmo also declared a state of local emergency this past week. The emergency comes as a result of the heavy storm earlier this month, leaving two roads in needs of massive repairs.

The Ross Valley Sanitary District is considering raising its rates. The board will consider the proposal over the next few months.
