Saturday at Memorial Park was magical -- literally. The town sponsored its annual Easter egg hunt and it wasn’t just the little ones who had a blast! The event was well-organized, friendly and, most of all, fun for all ages. Trust me, I’m not an Easter egg hunt type of guy and was less than excited to be surrounded by hundreds of screaming, sugar-high kids. But once there (and with a couple deep breaths) I had a blast. As far as I’m concerned, either you are dining at a kid-friendly restaurant or you’re not. There is no middle ground. I don’t want to hear the people next to us complaining about the noise when I’m with my little ones at what is classified as a kid-friendly restaurant. You knew what you were getting into. Go somewhere fancy and quiet if the noise level is a bit higher than you are used to. Or, better yet, shut up and learn to enjoy life by watching the little ones enjoy their meal. Before I get carried away and start in on how wonderful it is to be a dad, I need to give you a little perspective. I didn’t always think it would be wonderful to be a dad.  I’m a white boy, mid-forties, born into a poor-as-dirt family in Woodland, California.
