Reviewed by: Rudy Lee, 8, San Anselmo Magic by the Lake, by Edward Eager This story, Magic by the Lake, takes place (obviously) on a trip to a lake. Now, this is no ordinary lake. It's magic! The lake only gives wishes every three days. There are five main characters in this book. They are: Mark, Jane, Katherine, Martha and a turtle. I'm guessing that Mark is eleven, Jane is 10, Katherine is 8 and Martha is 6. The turtle is a wild turtle.   At the lake, Mark, Jane, Katherine and Martha …

Davey Jones is the Captain of the Flying Dutchman. When…
Rudy Lee, 7 Book: Secrets of Droon I would recommend the whole Secrets of Droon series. I like it because I like to figure out what happens next (sometimes it's hard to wait for the library to get the next one). The story begins when three kids, Eric, Julie and Neil, are getting ready to play soccer. Eric's father asks them to clean up their basement, and Julie kicks the soccer ball into a secret closet that they had never discovered, and she sees a rainbow. They go into the closet and the light magically switches off. A magical staircase appears and down the staircase is Droon. And that's …
