A Town Song for Fairfax?

In the first annual town song contest, 20 entries perform at the Sleeping Lady.

Full of inside jokes about , ex-hippies, and even one jab at, the 20 entries in the first-ever Fairfax Song Contest all had one thing in common: a love of the town and a hard time coming up with words to rhyme with Fairfax.

The contest was put on by the Fairfax Volunteers and asked for entries from current, past or future residents of town. Music-loving Fairfax came out in force to perform a wide range of self-written hits at the Sleeping Lady Tuesday night.

The winner will, hopefully, be picked over the weekend by the judges and will perform the new town song at the Fairfax Festival and town picnic.

Not all the performances made it into this video. A more lengthy compilation will be up later this week.
