Delays Expected on Butterfield Road Thursday in San Anselmo

A Marin Municipal Water District pipeline replacement project may cause a bit of a traffic headache later this week.

The following is a lightly edited press release from the Marin Municipal Water District:

“Traffic on Butterfield Road in San Anselmo between Carlson Avenue and Woodside Drive will be delayed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 5 for a pipeline replacement project. One lane of traffic will be closed from 9:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.; all other times both lanes will be kept opened but expect delays. Both the contractor and MMWD will make every effort to minimize delays.

The district is installing approximately one third of a mile of water transmission pipeline in San Anselmo to replace pipes that are 70 to 90 years old and to relocate water service connections on various streets to accommodate a paving project planned by the Town of San Anselmo.
