Free Ferry Shuttle Sees Ridership Slowly Increase
"The Wave" takes Ross Valley commuters to the Larkspur ferry terminal — and syncs itself with ferry departures to San Francisco.
A new shuttle for local ferry commuters appears to be getting some traction as it takes commuters from Ross Valley to the Larkspur ferry terminal.
The shuttle, called "The Wave," started last week and will have a nine-month trial period through June 2014. It’s free for ferry customers, but other passengers will be subject to fares.
Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District Spokesperson Mary Currie said the shuttle started with a total of 12 riders participate in its morning trips on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and a total of 39 riders catching “The Wave” during its Sept. 3 afternoon trips.

Morning trip riders have gradually increased, but they peaked last Thursday, with a total of 27 riders.
Last Friday, the number of afternoon shuttle riders increased to 49.

The shuttle is designated as Route 25 in the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District’s Transit Guide and will make all the regular Golden Gate Transit stops between Fairfax and the Larkspur Ferry Terminal. Click here to see the schedule.
