Hundreds of community members apparently packed downtown Fairfax on Sunday for the second annual Streets for People.

The day started with a dedication of Fairfax’s mountain bike mosaic, which is located in front of the bench on Bolinas Road at Mono Alley.

Bolinas Road in downtown Fairfax was closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the community event, modeled after a car-free program in Bogota, Colombia.

The weekend also included an event that shut down the main road in downtown San Anselmo. On Saturday night, “Dinner Under the Stars” raised funds for the town’s new park, which was a gift from Star Wars creator and San Anselmo resident George Lucas.
