Carlos Santana Plays the Sleeping Lady

Watch the video of the guitarist as he plays a spontaneous set in downtown Fairfax.

This past Thursday, Sept. 22, music lovers at got a surprising treat: a visit and set from guitarist Carlos Santana.

According to Liz Stires, who was in the audience, local favorite Danny Click was rolling through a set when Santana and his wife, Cindy Blackman, walked in to watch Cindy's sister Tracy.

The pair sooned were coaxed on stage -- Cindy tours with Lenny Kravitz -- and took the drums and guitar.

"The room was already packed and it was a hot night, but before long the word was out and people poured down town and into the street outside the Sleeping Lady," said Stires. "The Sleeping Lady continues to provide this community with unrepeatable performances and a unique blend of restaurant, hang out and music club. We are lucky to have the talent we have here in this community and such a great venue to come together and enjoy!"
