After hundreds of gigs, four albums, national tours, European dates, sharing the stage with their idol Buck Owens and many other national acts, backing rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson on a tour of California, and movie and television soundtracks, Red Meat has found its place as one of the pre-eminent honky tonk bands in California. Red Meat has won an SF Weekly "Wammy," the East Bay Express' "Best of the East Bay, and the SF Bay Guardian's "Best of the Bay" award as best country band. The band's songs have appeared in the Lion's Gate film "Monster's Ball," in many independent movies, and in the soundtrack for the cable TV show "Rollergirls." Red Meat has recorded 4 CDs, 3 of which were produced by roots music legend Dave Alvin.
