San Anselmo Arts Commission to Sponsor Patti Oji at the

Ross Valley Artist and Designer’s works on display through June 7

San Anselmo CA.-April 24, 2012 - Patti Oji is an artist whose paintings and beaded masks are in balance with the forces of nature that surround her. She draws her inspiration from her family and the everyday scenes she paints.

Patti began her career as a graphic artist 30 years ago. Oji received a B.S. in Business at California State University in Fresno.  She then continued her graduate studies in Design at California State University at Chico.  In addition to her designing for her own clientele, Oji also taught Design and Typography at Olivet University in San Francisco.

Oji’s paintings focus on people in everyday life.  Her artistic balance comes into play as she captures the color and energy of her friends, family and food, as they come together in joy and celebration.  This can be seen in her work depicting Farmers Markets or her paintings of people in or around downtown San Anselmo and Marin County.

Oji’s beaded masks demonstrate a passion for faces, mythology and color.  Her inspiration comes from the Mexican artist Juan Orta Castillo, whose wonderful wooden masks are displayed throughout Mexico.  Oji’s masks are beautifully beaded and each conveys its own spirit.

“I get a lot out of watching people react to my art,” says Patti. “This usually results with them opening up to me and telling me their experiences”.

Along with being involved with Martial Arts for many years, Oji is an avid bike rider and belongs to the Marin County Bike Coalition. She has participated in the Ride to end  Aids, a  7-day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money and awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

is located at 546 San Anselmo Ave- San Anselmo, CA. 94960

Patty’s art work is on display through June 7

Is anybody else here getting multiple e-mail notifications of new comments by Jo Tog, and thenRead More clicking the link, only to find that they are actually old comments from Jo Tog, but with today's date on them? What's the deal? Did all his comments get flagged and deleted, and now he's re-posting them? Most curious.

Jo Trog, we live in a Corporatocracy, not a republic. We abdicated the Republic after 9/11, if notRead More before. Know the difference.

Banning the sale in a free market economy is too strong. I believe people should be able to chooseRead More so long as the product is labeled correctly, and even placed in a section with a big sign that says "GM Food products". Would I buy it if I pass the section at the grocery store: NO.
