Saturday and Sunday:

San Anselmo salutes the sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s when they do the Hippy Hippy Shake at the 28th annual San Anselmo Art & Wine Festival with 200 fine art booths, a merchant marketplace, wine tasting, food vendors, kids’ zone, and entertainment galore on two stages. The arts booths will feature fine paintings, sculptures and other unique arts and crafts. The kids’ zone will include a variety of fun activities for children: puppet and magic shows, miniature car racing, a train ride, shark slide, rock wall, face painting and much more.

The music line-up will take you back in time with bands playing simultaneously on the Trippin’ Tunstead Stage and the Boppin' Bolinas Stage with a line-up guaranteed to make you want to dance. The great line-up includes California Dreamin’, Cream of Clapton, the Sun Kings, ZebopRevolver, Boptropolis, Cover Grizz, and Savannah Blue. There will be prizes given out throughout the day for the best dancers, so pull out your tie-dye or retro best!

If you go: The free festival is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days in downtown San Anselmo on San Anselmo Avenue between Tamalpais and Bolinas streets.

Saturday:

Put on your party boots, people! This benefit for the Lagunitas School District Class of 2012 is going to be swinging. The line-up includes Rusty Evans and Ring of Fire, Danny Montana & the Bar Association, The Jesse Jay Harris Band and the incomparable Red Meat. After hundreds of gigs, four albums, national tours, European dates, sharing the stage with their idol Buck Owens and many other national acts, backing rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson on a tour of California, and movie and television soundtracks, Red Meat has found its place as one of the pre-eminent honky-tonk bands in California. Put a spit-shine your boots, then head on over for a fun evening of great music.

If you go: Tickets are $20 and the show starts at 8 p.m. at , 29 Broadway Blvd. in Fairfax.
