Mountain Play's 'The Music Man' Delights

An audience of approximately 2,500 people basked in the sun and enjoyed Meredith Wilson’s The Music Man on Sunday at last Sunday's opening day of the at the Cushing Memorial Amphitheatre on Mount Tam.

Families and friends gathered for picnic lunches and pre-show entertainment by local youth musicians before witnessing a great musical comedy that will have you singing “Seventy-Six Trombones” as you hike down the mountain after the performance.

The Music Man serves as the , who is helming his 30th consecutive and final Mountain Play this year. Dunn, is wrapping up his legendary Mountain Play run just months before his 80th birthday and one year before the Mountain Play celebrates its centennial.

The show continues for the next five Sundays through June 17 at 2 p.m., as well as Saturday, June 16.
