Bring it Local – A Win-Win-Win Situation!

Learn about the new local start-up, Bring It Local, that gives consumers a way to shop while giving back tot he community!

Local resident Mark White founded Bring it Local in 2011 out of frustration with the financial crisis of 2008. The idea is simple: You shop on-line with local businesses and up to 15% of the profits go directly to the local non-profit of your choice.

According to Time magazine,

… buying local … enhances the ‘velocity’ of money, or circulation speed, in the area. The idea is that if currency circulates more quickly, the money passes through more hands – and more people have the benefit of the money and what it has purchase[s] for them.

Some of the 30 local businesses currently featured on Bring it Local include Café Lotus, a home-style Northern Indian café that uses organic ingredients and fresh spices without dyes, chemicals or MSG, Kim’s Martial Arts, Port Reyes Surf Shop, The Yoga Lab and Marin Organic Community Farm Stands. And if you’re looking for something you can’t find locally, Bring it Local has also partnered with on-line retailers like Target, Amazon, and Walmart.
