What do they offer?

You will find a wide range of options for facials, massage, and body treatments.

Many of the products used and sold at the spa are from Europe. Brands include Psysiodermie, Skin Medica, ZO Skin Health by Dr. Zein Obagi, Skinceuticals, Dr. Grandel, and Results.  

For professional make-up applications, they use the award-winning minerals make-up line by Jane Iredale, which promises flawless dewy skin.  

The spa hosts monthly open houses. Beverly Hills’ renowned dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi often lectures on skin care (Eden is the only Marin salon to carry his product line) and Orange County’s well-known plastic surgeon, Dr. Mohsen Tavoussi, visits monthly to offer injectibles and consultations.  

Who are they? 

Owner Katayoun “Katty” Amjadi has over 33 years experience in the beauty industry. While many aestheticians attend four months of instruction, the four year program Amjadi completed in England included specialized training for students to become medical aestheticians. 

Before moving to Marin, Amjadi created two large holistic medical spas in the Los Angeles area, one in Beverly Hills and the other in Encino, where she and a team of as many as fourteen medical doctors tended to the skin care and well being of celebrity clients. 

Amjadi lives in Greenbrae with her husband Behrouz Vossoughi, a famous character actor who has appeared in over one hundred films.   

Travelling to Europe five to seven times a year keeps Amjadi up-to-date on the latest in techniques, products, and treatments. “Anti-aging is more than skin deep,” she said. “I want to provide my clients with the best in results-driven technology for their skin and body care.”  

How long have they been there? 

After fourteen years in their original San Anselmo Avenue location, Eden Day Spa has recently moved two blocks up the street to the historic Courtyard Building. The stylish serene spa is all white, with a Venetian chandelier, sparkling white marble floors and artistic touches of teal, aqua and turquoise.   

Clients are greeted by a striking multi-hued blue tile curved reception desk. The comfortable treatment beds seem to float on the Persian carpets placed beneath them, and each private room has a soothing fountain.    

Why are they business of the week? 

Many women (especially moms) spend the frenetic holiday season caring for their families as well as doing too much driving, cooking, and shopping (and partying).

The beginning of the year is a good time to relax, refresh, renew and rejuvenate -- perhaps even to begin a skin care or body regime with facials and body treatments.   

Inner health and well being is a priority at Eden Day Spa. The Ionize Foot Bath strengthens your immune system and cleanses the entire body of heavy metals.  

“We also have an amazing technology, ‘Abrahydri Trans,’ a lymph drainage system from Europe,” said technician and massage therapist Anna Lynn. “It is like liposuction without the cut, so it is non-invasive and fat is released through the lymphatic system.” 

The herbal detox wellness program called “M’lis” developed by Dr. Linda Nelson, cleanses the inner organs. “I’ve had clients with chronic headaches who tell me this cures the problem,” said Lynn, whose clients typically lose ten or more pounds with the all-natural detox programs (three to 30 days). In combination, the spa also offers lymphatic drainage body wraps for detox, slimming and firming. 

Because Marin women are outside so often running, hiking, biking, and swimming, Amjadi feels they should think about their skin more than they probably do. Even though many of the newer make-up formulas contain sunscreen, she suggests wearing a sunscreen product under whatever foundation you use.  

“When your skin looks good and is glowing, you look younger than your age,” said Amjadi. “At Eden Day Spa, we see improvement in skin clarity and firming. When our clients start feeling better about themselves, we often observe changes in how they dress and carry their bodies. When you feel that you look good, it affects everything about you, including your emotions and sense of well being.”
