Fairfax Unemployment Still High

Marin County lower than state average, but unemployment still high in Fairfax.

In state numbers released last week, Marin County's unemployment rate of 8 percent continued to be lower than the state average of 12 percent.

But, in some of the towns, the numbers remained high.

Fairfax, which has a total work force of just 4,700, has an unemployment of 13.3 percent. San Anselmo, though, next door, has an unemployment rate of just 9.9 percent.
