Favorite New Businesses This Year:

  • and opened within months of each other, making San Anselmo the go-to place for frozen, do-it-yourself yogurt.
  • added baked goods to those treats in town.
  • and offered some new, great places to go shopping in Fairfax.
  • provided a new place for people to get their hair done.
  • has given locals a new place for community health information, herb shops, and natural car products.

Businesses We'll Miss the Most:

  • , a family classic, abruptly closed its doors at Red Hill this fall.
  • had an everything-must-go sale and closed its doors -- but a new wine bar may be going into the empty storefront.
  • , formerly Fork, offered great food at affordable prices, but finally succumbed to economic pressures.
  • had perfect gifts, and is now a bathing suit store.
  • closed after rents were raised.
