A database compiled by the Marin Independent Journal shows foreclosed houses throughout Marin since 2008, according to county assessor records and transfer documents.

While some cities, like San Rafael, have continued to experience a high number of foreclosures in the early months of 2011, both San Anselmo and Fairfax have seen a decrease in the number of foreclosed homes recently -- with just two foreclosures recorded in Fairfax in 2011 and three in San Anselmo.
