What's Opened and Closed Around Christmas Day

And Happy Hanukkah!

I have already ordered my coffee cake for Christmas morning from the in San Anselmo and will be picking it up at the end of the day on Christmas Eve for two reasons. The first is that the Royal Sweet will be closed on Christmas Day and the second is that I do not intend to leave the house on Dec. 25 if I can help it.

But maybe you don’t celebrate Christmas, or maybe you are one of those crazy folks who go for a run or bike ride and need that cup of joe after, or possibly Santa drank all of the egg nog and life wouldn’t be the same without a glass on the big day. Whatever the case may be here’s The Scoop on what is opened and closed on and around Dec. 25

Grocery Stores

in San Anselmo will close at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and be closed Christmas Day.

in Fairfax will be open till 9 p.m. Christmas Eve and also closed on Dec. 25

And, the will be open until 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and closed on Christmas day.

But have no fear, will be closing its doors at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve but be open on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. until 5. p.m. And Woodlands Market (in Kentfield) will close at 8 p.m. on Dec. 24 and open its doors from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Dec. 25.

Restaurants and Coffee Shops

I just learned that the in Fairfax, a simply wonderful restaurant in my humble opinion, is open 365 days a week and this Christmas is no exception.

But if you are just looking for a decent cup of joe, the in San Anselmo may be your only hope being open from 7 a.m. till 2 p.m., because the and both San Anselmo and the will be closed, along with the in Fairfax and Sweetlife, the new bakery in San Anselmo.

Celebrate Christmas Eve with ’s this year. They are having an incredible three course feast for $48 a person and with Wild Mushroom Bisque and Duck Liver Crostini to start the rest of the amazing menu is sure to please. But get your fill that evening because the restaurant will be closed on Christmas Day.

Shops

I think it goes without saying that nearly all the retail shops will be closed on Christmas Day, but please be sure to frequent all our local stores for last-minute gifts on Saturday, Dec. 24, as many doors will be staying open as late as possible before heading home to be with family and friends.

Wishing one and all a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy Hanukkah!

Is anybody else here getting multiple e-mail notifications of new comments by Jo Tog, and thenRead More clicking the link, only to find that they are actually old comments from Jo Tog, but with today's date on them? What's the deal? Did all his comments get flagged and deleted, and now he's re-posting them? Most curious.

Jo Trog, we live in a Corporatocracy, not a republic. We abdicated the Republic after 9/11, if notRead More before. Know the difference.

Banning the sale in a free market economy is too strong. I believe people should be able to chooseRead More so long as the product is labeled correctly, and even placed in a section with a big sign that says "GM Food products". Would I buy it if I pass the section at the grocery store: NO.
