Two Local Businesses Will Be Honored at Spirt of Marin

Ongaro & Sons and Schneider Insurance Services among those recognized at yearly awards ceremony.

One San Anselmo and one Fairfax business will be honored for their generosity and service at an awards luncheon on Sept. 23.

The 18th annual Spirit of Marin awards, hosted by Bank of Marin, will be held at . Businesses are nominated by their local chamber of commerce. Of 13 businesses to be honored, one each are from our local towns.

“The efforts of this year’s Spirit of Marin honorees exemplify the business community’s commitment to making all facets of Marin County thrive in good times and bad,” Bank of Marin President and CEO Russell A. Colombo said.

The Spirit of Marin award was inspired by the life of Dr. Jim Dawson, a Bank of Marin organizer and director. After his death in 1992, his wife discovered a copy of George Bernard Shaw’s A Splendid Torch in his belongings, which was his philosophy for life.

Keynote speakers for the event include College of Marin President David Coon and Dominican University President Mary Marcy. Reservations can be made online.
