Jade is associated with everything pure, powerful, and precious. Spring Egg Hunts

Get your running shoes ready! The Spring Egg Hunt is one of our oldest family events, occurring the Saturday before Easter at Memorial Park each year.

On Friday night, March 29th at 8:15 p.m. we offer the Flashlight Egg Hunt for children 8 & older. Bring your flashlights and baskets, because as soon as the sun goes down, the fun begins! Candy and prizes are scattered around the field, and quick hands tend to snatch it all up early, so don't be late!

On Saturday morning, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. we offer the Children’s Spring Egg Hunt & Camp Fair for children ages 7 and younger. The field is split up into three areas for different age groups and children are lined up around the perimeter of the field. As our special guest Mr. Bunny counts down from 10, the children get ready to run and find all the treats that have been hidden on the field.
After the hunt, families are invited to stay and enjoy an 11:30 a.m. show by magician The Amazing Jonathan, along with many other fun activities provided by staff members of many of San Anselmo’s summer camp programs!

Robson Park Drinking Fountain

Robson Harrington Park, in the lower grassy area, has been without a drinking fountain for some time.  A local resident has begun an effort to put in a new drinking fountain by the new picnic tables.

The cost of the new fountain, including the necessary plumbing and accessibility features, is $4,000.  Thanks to the efforts of the local resident, donations are being sought from other San Anselmo residents and users of the park to cover this cost.

Donations can be sent to the Town of San Anselmo, 525 San Anselmo Avenue, San Anselmo, CA, 94960 with a note marking it for the Robson fountain.

Food Scraps in the Green Can

Marin Sanitary Service has a great residential food scrap composting program.  Following is the list of acceptable food scraps:

Meat and poultry  Vegetables   Napkins
Dairy products   Egg shells   Waxed paper and waxed cardboard
Cooking oils & grease  Coffee grounds  Paper towels
Fats    Pizza boxes   Paper plates
Fruit

Here are the items that are not compostable:

Non-organic items  Foil    Hazardous waste
Liquids or juices  Animal waste   Motor oil
Glass    Styrofoam   Milk or beverage cartons
Plastic    Diapers

It’s easy.  Just designate a “Food Compost” container for your kitchen, post the list of acceptable food scraps, empty it often into your green can, and remember to put your green can out by the curb every week.

San Anselmo News, published weekly on Fridays, is available at the San Anselmo Town Hall, Library, on the Public Notice Bulletin Board. It is also available on the Town’s website, www.townofsananselmo.org, and by email subscription.
