Summer Events in San Anselmo

Summer is here, and there are lots of things for childrens and adults alike to enjoy right here.

Mark your Calendars for Summer Events

Beatles Tribute  - 10th Anniversary Beatles Tribute in , Saturday, July 9, beginning at 6 p.m. $12 adults, $5 kids - 12 and under, tickets available at Creek Park the day of the event. Seating begins at 4:30 p.m.; no pets allowed.

Art & Wine Festival –  Saluting the sounds of the 60s and 70s; arts and crafts booths, entertainment, food and wine on San Anselmo Avenue between Tamalpais and Bolinas Avenues. Fun for the whole family. Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Picnics on the Plaza – Friday evenings on the Town Hall lawn; bring a picnic and enjoy visiting with friends and neighbors. July 22 and 29, August 5, 12, 19 and 26, 5 to 8 p.m. Each evening is sponsored by a different local group.

Film Night in the Park – Selected weekend evenings in Creek Park. Go to www.filmnight.org for the complete schedule.

Farm Stand – Fresh, local, organic produce available on the Town Hall lawn on Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Music in the Park – The free summer concert series in Creek Park, sponsored by the San Anselmo Arts Commission, begins Sunday, July 24 and continues each Sunday to August 21, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Country Fair Day – The town’s traditional end-of-summer festival is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, and will include the pancake breakfast at the Firehouse, home town parade, local booths, great food and entertainment.

One World, Many Stories

Summer reading is off to a rousing start in the . Over 250 kids have already signed up to participate in our exciting, new summer reading program.  There are a number of wonderful new programs ongoing:

Wednesday programs in the Council Chambers:

 June 29, 1 p.m.– Kirk Waller, Storyteller

July 13, 1 p.m. – Dan Chan Magic Man and Kat the Acrobat

July 20, 2 p.m. – Wildlife Associates – Bay Area Wild

August 3, 1 p.m. – Fratello Marionettes – Carnival of Animals

August 10, 1 p.m. – The Bubble Lady

August 17, 1 p.m. – Puppet Art Theater

Fabulous Fridays:

June 17, 2 p.m. – Make an Origami Rabbit in the Library, ages 7 and up

July 15 , 1-2 p.m., (ages 6-9); 2:15-3:15 p.m., (ages 10-13) – Yoga with Lorna on the Town Hall lawn.  Advance signup required.

August 12, noon – Sean’s Shadows Puppet Show for all ages in the Council Chambers

August 19, 2-4 p.m. – End-of Summer Fiesta in Creek Park

Saturday Events:

June 25, 10:30 a.m. - Author Visit - Elizabeth Singer Hunt in the Council Chambers, ages 6-9.

July 9, 11 a.m. - Live Drumming on the Town Hall lawn

SHARE-A-Book Dogs: Thursdays, June 16 and 30, July 14 and 28, August 4 and 11, starting at 1 p.m., Kindergarten and up, advance signups required for 15-minute appointment to read to a dog.

Read-Out-Loud Book Club: Every Monday, 11-11:45 a.m., ages 6 and up, advance registration required. (No Club on July 4, July 18 and August 15.)

Playing With Words Poetry Club: 2nd Tuesday of the month, 2-3 p.m., Kindergarten and up, ages 6-11 in the Historical Museum (June 14, July 12, August 9)
