Welcome to the town’s volunteer force and thank you all for your service.

Art Talk Tuesdays

Join the San Anselmo Library Art Talk Tuesday lecture and visual presentation on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at noon when docent Edith Freeman from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco describes a feast of New World discoveries portrayed in art. We promise this will be a mouthwatering treat!

The program, Soccer, Sweets and Salsa: The New World’s Gifts to the Old, will portray the bounty of gifts from the ancient Americas in the arts of the pre-Hispanic world.

January’s Art Talk Tuesday will held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at noon, and will be on the Masters of Venice.

Art Talk Tuesdays are regularly held in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 525 San Anselmo Ave. on the second Tuesday of the month at noon. No reservations are required and the program is free for participants.

Funds for this program are provided by the Library Parcel Tax and the Friends of the San Anselmo Library.

For more information, call the library at 415-258-4656 or visit online at www.sananselmolibrary.org.

Holiday Parking Reminder

The San Anselmo Police Department wants to remind you that the town is providing free parking to holiday shoppers in San Anselmo. The free holiday shopping period began on Friday, Nov. 25 and will continue through Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. During this period the parking meters will not be operating. As always, however, the disabled, red zone and other safety related parking violations will be enforced.

Street Sweeping Reminder

The new December street sweeping schedule is available on the town website.  Sweeping in December is twice per month.

For January, the schedule will change again, as most of the leaves will be off the trees. Sweeping in January through September will revert to once per month on the first scheduled day of the month.

We do need your help with street sweeping, however. We get a lot of complaints about materials that are not picked up by the sweeper. Most of these complaints originate from the fact that cars are parked on the roadway and keep the sweeper from doing a good job. Now that we have a schedule that we can count on, please help the sweeper by keeping your street free of parked cars on your assigned sweeping day!

For questions, please call Dave Craig, Public Works Supervisor, at 258-4601.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
