Library News – Books and Cookies

Middle school students who love to read are invited to join Books and Cookies, the San Anselmo Library’s book club just for kids in the 6th – 8th grade.  This month we will discuss Un Lun Dun by China Mieville.  Members will receive a complimentary copy of the book every month (while supplies last!).

The next Books and Cookies is Friday, September 13, 4:00 – 4:50 p.m., Grades 6 – 8.  Advance sign-ups are required.  Contact April at ahayley@townofsananselmo.org to register.

September is National Library Card Month

Whether it’s back to school, back to work or for everyday use, having a current Library Card is a key to success in today’s world. With your Library Card you can:

  • Check out e-Books
  • Reserve and print Museum Passes
  • Renew and place holds in your Library account
  • Learn a new language
  • Use Internet computers in the Library
  • And, of course, check out books, movies and more

The Library will be celebrating with fun activities for everyone like “Name that ‘famous’ San Anselmo person.” Also, each time in September you visit the Library WITH your Library Card, you can fill out a ticket to enter our special “The Smartest Card” raffle.

We really want you to have a library card. San Anselmo residents with lost or missing cards can replace their card for FREE at the library during September.

You can apply to register to vote through the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm.   You can also pick up a paper voter registration application at the County elections office, Library, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, or any U.S. post office. It is important that your voter registration application be filled out completely and be postmarked or hand-delivered to the County elections office at least 15 days before the election.  Our next election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

San Anselmo News, published weekly on Fridays, is available at the San Anselmo Town Hall, Library, on the Public Notice Bulletin Board. It is also available on the Town’s website, www.townofsananselmo.org, and by email subscription.
