Several large outages were affecting PG&E customers in the Bay Area today, including some in San Rafael and Ross Valley, a utility spokesman said.

In the North Bay, an outage that began at 10:37 a.m. was affecting about 1,200 customers in Lagunitas, Forest Knolls, San Geronimo and Nicasio, King said.

The outage occurred in an area along Lucas Valley Road from Nicasio east to Skywalker Roach and south to San Geronimo. Those customers were expected to have power restored around 2 p.m., King said. According to the PG&E outage map, the power had been restored by 1:30 p.m.

Some 6,000 customers in the downtown Berkeley area lost power at 10:50 a.m., according to spokesman Jason King.

By 11:40 a.m., power had been restored to about 700 customers, and King said power should have been back to most of the other affected customers by 1 p.m.

The area that lost power is along Martin Luther King Jr. Way between University Avenue and Berryman Street, he said.

A third major outage in Los Altos was reported around 10:30 a.m. About 800 customers are affected by the outage. Power was expected to be back by 1:30 p.m., King said.

PG&E is still investigating what caused all of the outages.

I went to the Smashburger in Novato & have to say that it was a disappointing experience. TheRead More burger was very mediocore & the onion rings were awful-very greasy. The staff were not friendly & operated with a "Bambi in the headlights" look about them. I do wish Smasburger luck in their locations. However, from my perspective there is a good deal of work that still needs to be done with the food, staff & service. At this time, "In & Out" Burger is a "hand's down favorite...thanks
