It's Thursday, and you have no idea what you'll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We have compiled the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time.

What/Where: San Geronimo Golf Club, 5800 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., San Geronimo; Saturday 4-9 p.m.

Why Go: Because it’s time to get your groove on. Come on over for a fabulous dinner and then let the talented musicians from Drake (and their guest artists) charm you with their smooth-talking jazz.

PHIL KANTNER’S 7oTH BIRTHDAY ALL STAR GALA

Where/When: 142 Throckmorton Theatre, 142 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley; Saturday and Sunday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Wow. Two nights of rock and roll bliss. The luminaries read like a who’s who of musical talent. Is this too much of a good thing? I think not. Happy Birthday Mr. Kantner. Live long and prosper.

Pricing: $45, $75, $125 (18+)

PHIL OCHS: THERE BUT FOR FORTUNE

Where/ When: Smith Rafael Film Center, 1118 4th St., San Rafael; Sunday 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (one week only)

Why Go: This documentary is a tribute to legendary folk singer Phil Ochs. Known for his “topical” songs, the film incorporates interviews with such admirers as  Pete Seeger, Sean Penn, Joan Baez as well as Ochs' beautiful melodies. Meegan Lee Ochs and director Kenneth Bowser appear at Sunday’s matinee and evening shows.

Pricing: $5.50 members, $10.25 general,

16th ANNUAL BREWFEST

Where/When: Fairfax Pavilion; Saturday 1-5 p.m.

Why Go: Ales and lagers and stouts. Oh my. Eighteen regions of the finest brewers are included in this brewfest. Top it off with some Irish Trad and all is good.

Pricing: $25 in advance, $30 cash at the door (remember to bring extra $ for pub-style food)

48 HOUR SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILM CHALLENGE

Where/When: Fairfix Cafe, 33 Broadway Blvd., Fairfax; starts at Friday 7 p.m. 

Why Go: Up for an interesting challenge? (Before heading to the Brewfest.) Filmmakers have 48 hours to produce a four-minute documentary film using items that will be revealed (drum roll please) Friday night. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to enter. The competition ends on Sunday.
