Grab and Go Kids Planner: Feb. 23-27

Check out the World Series Trophy, paper airplanes, teddy bears, art, and elephant seals — pick and choose from this week's array of events.

You're time-pressed and busy, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. With this we present to you the Kids Grab and Go Planner for the best things to do with those kids home for Ski Week this week and weekend.

WORLD SERIES TROPHY

Where/When:  San Rafael Community Center, 318 B Street, San Rafael; today, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: Get your kids dressed in their orange and black because the celebration keeps going. Have their picture taken with the trophy but get there early, there’s sure to be a crowd and the trophy leaves at 12:30 p.m. sharp.

NO LIMITS PRESIDENT’S DAY CAMP

Where/When: Neil Cummins Gym, 58 Mohawk Avenue, Corte Madera; Feb. 21-26 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Didn’t sign the kids up for camp this week? No problem. Drop-ins are welcome  and the range of activites will make everyone happy. Check out their new Mars camp. High tech paper airplanes, anyone?

BEAR IN THE AIR

Where/When: Corte Madera Children’s Library, 707 Meadowsweet Drive, Corte Madera; Wednesday, 11 a.m. to noon

Why Go: Bring the kids and their well-loved teddy bears for a special story time with author Susan Meyers. For 3 to 6-year-olds.

Pricing: Free

DOODLEBUG

Where/When: 641 San Anselmo Ave., San Anselmo; open 7 days a week 

Why Go: Are the kids feeling crafty? Just finished scraping the glue off the kitchen chairs? Doodlebug’s got a whole array of projects for your kids. Ceramics, yes, but there’s so much more.

Pricing: Depends on the project.

ELEPHANT SEALS AT POINT REYES

Where/When: Chimney Rock Elephant Seal Overlook, Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Point Reyes; Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Have the kids get up close and check out these large and in charge seals. Take the shuttle from Drake’s Beach. Dress warm and don’t forget the binoculars.
