Deputies Bust 10 for Selling Tobacco to a Minor

A teenage volunteer acted as a decoy and attempted to purchase tobacco at 48 different businesses in central Marin.

 

Marin County Sheriff’s Deputies cited 10 people for selling tobacco to a minor in a sting operation near the town limits of Corte Madera, Larkspur, San Anselmo, Greenbrae and San Rafael.

Selling tobacco to a minor — anyone less than 18 years of age — is a misdemeanor, according to to the sheriff's department.

The following subjects were cited and released with a promise to appear in the Marin County Superior Court:
