Readers' Choice Activities for Mother's Day

You thought it was random, didn't you? It's all been building up to this: Mother's Day is today.

This week's show that Visiting the Coast is number one choice (44%) for a staycation for Ross Valley and region residents. Runners up were Taking a Hike (29%) or Riding a Bike (22%), showing that we're definitely an outdoorsy sort of folk.

You thought it was random, didn't you? Over the past couple months we've been running weekly "Reader's Choice" polls asking about things from Mexican Food to florists, and you've probably been wondering why. Other than to gauge your interest and enthusiasm in such local businesses of course.

Now, we can tell you how you've decided to celebrate Mother's Day - this Sunday, May 13. Let's run a few of these Readers Choice polls together and come up with the perfect Patch celebration for that special person, Mom.

  • Buy her flowers, and what better place than winner of our Best Florist choice, .
  • Take her to brunch, and again our Readers' Choice in this category is even having a special , of course.
  • Visit the coast, our "staycation" choice, and you'll find a Mothers Day Barbecue at Stinson Beach's Audubon Canyon Ranch.
  • And for dinner, we'll put three items on the menu:
    • might be Porcini Crusted Flatiron Steak.
    • is bright and cheerful.
    • - and nothing says "Mama Mia!" like Italian!

Finally we have to remind you that last year we had a , and we're showcasing some of the images from that feature again this year. Thanks to all you moms out there, could not have done it without you!

Is anybody else here getting multiple e-mail notifications of new comments by Jo Tog, and thenRead More clicking the link, only to find that they are actually old comments from Jo Tog, but with today's date on them? What's the deal? Did all his comments get flagged and deleted, and now he's re-posting them? Most curious.

Jo Trog, we live in a Corporatocracy, not a republic. We abdicated the Republic after 9/11, if notRead More before. Know the difference.

Banning the sale in a free market economy is too strong. I believe people should be able to chooseRead More so long as the product is labeled correctly, and even placed in a section with a big sign that says "GM Food products". Would I buy it if I pass the section at the grocery store: NO.
