Readers' Choice: Nominate Your Favorite Burger in Marin

We want to know which burger-serving businesses should be in the running for this Readers' Choice category.

You need a juicy patty on a bun - stat! Where do you go?

Tell us your favorite burger spot in the comments section below, and we'll put them into a poll for everyone to vote on. Nominations are Marin-wide, so it doesn't matter in which town your favorite burger joint is located.

We'll accept nominations from Monday, June 18, to July 9. Then, on July 23, the voting begins through August 17. We will announce the winner in this category and the others on August 24. Visit our topic page for all the Readers' Choice information.

Well, I run a burger blog (burgertour.org) and hands down the best burger on the entire West Coast is at Rancho Nicasio. No question. P

I second Weezy's.
Phyllis Galanis June 19, 2012 at 03:51 pm
If we can throw turkey burgers into the mix then I nominate Cheesecake Factory in the Village at Corte Madera. To me they have the best in the county.

Thje blackened burger at Half Day Cafe is heart stopping good and I am not even a die hard burger person. I might be a vegetarian but the thought of giving this up just makes me ask myself "is life worth living without it? They serve it with a cajun aoili on a wonderful bun and always get it with Jack Cheese, because hey, why not. Everything is better with cheese-right?

Has anyone tried the new burger place in Mill Valley, at the old Jack inthe Box location?
Kevin Moore June 21, 2012 at 10:29 pm
Marin Brewing Company, Terriaki burger
Runners up, Moylans, Scottie's Market in Terra Linda, Phyliss's.

Once, it was okay, but perhaps a little greasy. Didn't compare to the Half Day Cafe blackened burger. My second choice would be the Left Bank in Larkspur. They have a delicious burger with genuine pomme frites. Great environment too.

Sam's Cafe in Tiburon or Finnegan's in Novato.

The Panama Burger at the Panama Hotel! B St. in San Rafael.

I won't even leave an answer then. I don't run a burger blog, so I must not really know.

The BOMB Burger at Second Breakfast is the best!
MarkH July 5, 2012 at 12:52 am
Tried a lot of burgers but SuperDuperBurger on Miller is the current family favorite. Can't believe no one has mentioned Pearls yet as well
Rico July 5, 2012 at 12:53 pm
I don't eat hamburgers very often, but I really like SuperDuperBurger. They use only organic meat and produce and it tastes great. I like to get a veggie burger with grilled onions, bacon and cheddar cheese. I know, it's cheating a veggie burger, but it tastes good. Good homemade pickles too.

Pearl's phat burger in Mill Valley

Alan Brown July 6, 2012 at 04:09 pm
Due to the ability to customize The Counter hands down, though Phyllis's is a close second.
BLG July 6, 2012 at 04:56 pm
Finnegan's
Ruth Schwartz July 7, 2012 at 03:49 pm
Sam's Place in Novato has awesome big burgers for a great price. They will customize your burger however you want, and Sam's is a fun, old-time coffee shop kind of place. Feels like going to your mom's for a meal.
Lizzardking's Rise July 7, 2012 at 08:54 pm
Yeah, man. Weezy's is the best man. I feel funny saying it aloud, but the white trash burger is better than sex, man. Maybe they should come up with a Hippie Burger, full of sprouts and shit.
Lizzardking's Rise July 7, 2012 at 08:57 pm
Hey dude, isn't this suppose to be in Marin County? And Chris, dude, just because Patsy runs a buger blog and you don't does not make you any less of an expert, man. Have faith in the power of your palate, man.
Lizzardking's Rise July 7, 2012 at 08:58 pm
You can say that again, Angie. Oh wait, you already did.
Lizzardking's Rise July 7, 2012 at 09:00 pm
Yeah, man, and Mom shows up wearing a slip and curlers in her hair with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth and she screams all the time, with each rant starting with, "Hey little mister!!" Wait, man. Where am I? How do I get out of here?
Lizzardking's Rise July 8, 2012 at 03:55 am
Oh man, sorry but Turkey burgers are repulsive.
Beverly Hall July 8, 2012 at 11:10 am
Love the Counter..custom burgers and great shakes!!
Rebecca Jackson July 8, 2012 at 11:41 am
I second Ricardo Charducci's recommendation for SuperDuperBurger's veggie burger and also their amazing portobello mushroom burger (both are vegetarian but the contest just says "favorite burger" and doesn't specify that it has to be meat). Variety is good:-).
Brenda Dahl July 10, 2012 at 01:41 am
Wipe Out in Greenbrae. Wipe Out burger with bacon, onion rings and blue cheese.
louise September 1, 2012 at 09:58 pm
thanks!!!

Rancho Nicasio is in the exact center of Marin County, so it qualifies as Marin. I've had the burger and it's great, but their big homer is the BBQ ribs, the best I've ever had(and I've been to Texas)

I went to the Smashburger in Novato & have to say that it was a disappointing experience. TheRead More burger was very mediocore & the onion rings were awful-very greasy. The staff were not friendly & operated with a "Bambi in the headlights" look about them. I do wish Smasburger luck in their locations. However, from my perspective there is a good deal of work that still needs to be done with the food, staff & service. At this time, "In & Out" Burger is a "hand's down favorite...thanks
Jason Kent June 16, 2013 at 03:06 pm
Sheryl, I would put up our food and our service against any In & Out, anytime, any place. I'llRead More put my burger where my mouth is (literally) and offer you some free vouchers to be at our opening in Mill Valley. Send me an email (jasonwkent@gmail.com) with your mailing address and I'll get those vouchers to you ASAP.
