Road Closure in Mt. Tam Watershed Monday and Tuesday

Concrete Pipe Road, just above the Five Corners intersection in the Mount Tamalpais Watershed, will be closed for 8.5 hours each day.

The Marin Municipal Water District watershed maintenance staff will be upgrading a culvert on Concrete Pipe Road just above the Five Corners Intersection on Monday, July 2, and Tuesday, July 3, necessitating closure of Concrete Pipe Road in both directions between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on both days. See the map for the exact closure location in the popular hiking and biking area.

This is the second of five localized closures on the watershed scheduled for mid-June through the month of July to replace undersized culverts. The new larger culverts will make them “storm-proof,” thereby reducing the risk of potential catastrophic failure and associated erosion during the rainy season.

Additional closures and work sites will be announced as they are scheduled. District officials said efforts will be made to keep the roads fully passable after work hours and on weekends.
