San Rafael Racquet Club Gets Major Makeover
As the rain (hopefully) starts to recede and the sun remembers to show itself, the swimming season will once again be upon us. What great timing for the Rafael Racquet Club, which will unveil its new $3 million remodel this month.

Dove Place Antiques On the Move?
Find out what's happening in San Anselmo-Fairfaxwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
That's what Patch heard from one of our readers!
Apparently Dove Place will be taking residency in the old Aurora building down the street. We're glad they're staying in town. As a Pacific Sun Hall of Fame Business, is a fixture of downtown San Anselmo.
Tax is No April Fool's Joke
Quite the contrary. Starting on April 1, Fairfax will implement a voter-approved raise in sales tax.
While several cities in the North Bay Area are kicking off April with tax rate bumps, Fairfax will have the honor of housing the highest new rate. The new sales tax is a half-cent increase, and was approved through Measure D, which appeared on the ballot last November.
According to the North Bay Journal, the goal of the tax increase is to fund "general city services amid falling property tax and state revenue". The tax is scheduled to stay in effect through March 31, 2017.
Pilates and...Paintbrushes?
Marin Pilates Studio has a new neighbor, or should we say roommate?
While Marin Pilates will remain in its current space, the back has been transformed into an artists' co-op. Patch hears six artists will be able to utilize the location as a workspace, and that it should be opening shortly.
We can't wait to see what comes out of this promising arrangement!
