Weekend Update

All the San Anselmo and Fairfax news you missed

This week was a busy week in San Anselmo and Fairfax from a toxic spill clean-up at Fair-Anselm to a Smart Meter moratorium in Fairfax. Missed out on the latest news? Don't get left behind when talking to your neighbor!

Here's our handy guide to what went down this week:

  • Our police are on the case! A suspect using stolen credit cards was arrested in a sting in San Rafael last weekend.
  • A homeless shelter in San Anselmo?
  • Koffee Klatch closes its doors after 43 years. Where to get your pancakes and coffee now?
  • This weekend is the last weekend to see the comical 1001 Dreams by the Fairfax Players!
  • 900 residents around the Fair-Anselm Plaza received notices from the Department of Toxic Substance Control about a chemical spill cleanup at the plaza. Didn't get one? Don't worry, we have all the information for you to let them know what you think!
  • Ross Valley School District board approved a $41 million bond for the Nov. 2 election.
  • PG&E took back it's firm stance that they would not stop deployment on their Smart Meter program and, instead, temporarily stopped deployment on their Smart Meter program in Fairfax. Not that that stopped Fairfax from also issuing an ordinance banning the meters for one year.
  • Don't miss a good time at the Good Festival today!
  • The election filing period closed on Friday at 5 p.m. and sure enough some San Anselmo and Fairfax residents are in the mix for water district board and healthcare district board.
