  • Did you know the Hub was once a bustling hub -- of trains! Learn about how the town developed and intersection grew and changed through the years.
  • Controversy and disputes continue to surround the 680 trail, which would link the Sleepy Hollow-Terra Linda open space to the Loma Alta area. The trail is being proposed following the closure of a unofficial cut-through across Metallica frontman James Hatfield's land.
  • It seems like the heat just won't leave now that it's here. What do you to get out of the heat?
  • Fairfax Variety offers a variety of unique Fairfax fun.
  • A wealth of local businesses went green this week. United gets rid of the question: paper or plastic? Now, it's just paper. And three San Anselmo businesses won green awards from the county.
  • Following last week's demonstration against the sanitary district at the supervisor's meeting, the district fires back a letter to the supervisors urging them to back off.
  • The girls golf team at Drake takes newbies and makes them golfers.
  • The Fairfax council passed an ordinance to place a temporary moratorium on any new medical marijuana facilities in town. The ordinance will be reconsidered on its second reading in October.
  • The council also is considering a ban on smoking in multi-unit apartments. That will also be considered in October. (A meeting you don't want to miss!)
