Savor & Select: YES Wine Tasting Event Coming to Fairfax

Come taste some unique wines, stock up for holiday entertaining and support YES at the Fairfax Pavilion on Nov. 19.

On Nov. 19, YES will host Savor & Select, a new wine tasting fundraiser, at the Fairfax Pavilion. The event is sponsored by Community Wines, an online wine seller owned and operated by Fairfax residents Brad Widelock and Francie Salle. Community Wines has invited about a dozen of its wineries to pour over 40 wines and will also bring samples from small producers in France, Germany and Spain.

Savor & Select is the brainstorm of Widelock and Salle who, in addition to being full-time teachers and the parents of a first-grader at , have turned their love of unique wines from small wineries into a business. They create Community Wine’s select collection by traveling off the beaten path in Sonoma and abroad to seek out the “gems of the wine world.” It's not easy to find their offerings at wine stores, but you will see them on wine lists at restaurants like the Slanted Door and Chez Panisse.

Come savor a taste of these unusual wines, and then select a few bottles for the upcoming entertaining season. You’ll be supporting YES programs while you’re there: all proceeds from ticket sales and a raffle for a mixed case of wines go to YES.
