15K First Day Hike to Mt. Burdell

Begin 2014 on the right foot! Then
alternate with the left foot for 4.4 miles to the summit of Mt. Burdell.  Our trail gently switchbacks along the
mountain’s eastern slope, making for a pleasant ascent marked by show-stopping
vistas and wildlife sightings.  Learn
about the park’s remarkable history and natural features.   9.2 mile round trip. Meet at the visitor’s center
at 9:30 for coffee and tea.  Hike begins
at 10:00 am. Wear sturdy shoes, dress in layers and bring water, snacks, camera
and binocs. $8 parking.
