The birds are here and doing fine, but the naturalist has come down with a nasty bug. We'll reschedule for later in the season since our feathered friends will still be here enjoying California's balmy weather (although it feels downright arctic today). Check back in at www. parks.ca.gov/tomalesbay. Thanks!
ORIGINAL POST: December marks the height of the winter migration along the Pacific Flyway. As one of the largest and most unspoiled estuaries in northern California, Tomales Bay offers migrating birds an ideal place to rest, forage or stay for the winter. Join interpreter Sam Toffoli to learn basic techniques for identifying our seasonal visitors. Binoculars will be provided and a spotting scope will help us to get a closer look.
Meet at Heart’s Desire Beach. All
ages welcome!
