Join us for a Family Style Beatles Tribute sponsored by Marin Community Music School and San Anselmo Arts Commission
For 2013, the San Anselmo Arts Commission and the Marin Community Music
School have joined forces to bring an additional Sunday afternoon performance
on July 14th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. that benefits Marin Community Music School.
It's a family-friendly way to enjoy the music of The Beatles as originally
recorded, featuring strings, winds, brass, and chorus along with the core rock
band. Says Penhallow. ”I’ve seen this event grow from a few hundred
people to 1000 or so that fill the park every year.” He also adds. ”I’ve
watched many families with small children singing right along to the songs not
missing a beat or lyric. I’m proud to be part of something that brings such joy
and love to the community.” Both Marin Community Music School's founder and director, David
Lusterman, and guitar instructor Kurt Huget have been members of The
Liddypudlians from the start, and MCMS guitar instructor Travis Andrews is
joining the band for the first time.
The Beatles Tribute, which is the kick-off live music event of the summer in Ross Valley, is the major fundraiser for the San Anselmo Arts Commission. One of the many events that the commission funds is the Music in the Park free concert series which takes place in Creek Park every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. This year’s series starts on July 21st with the “Garden Gypsies” and runs through August 18th closing with “Revolver”.
The Sunday July 14th “family event” starts at 1pm and ends at 3pm. Cost is $10 at the door. Creek Park is located at the “Hub” in San Anselmo and will open for seating at 4:30pm. So bring your blankets, a picnic meal and “Get Back” to Creek Park for a unforgettable afternoon of fun!
