Lagunitas Creek Habitat Enhancement

Come show support for the fish and your local community!

Laguniats Creek is home to the endangered Coho salmon and threatened steelhead trout and therefore is an incredibly important creek to protect.
The AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Project (WSP) in partner with the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) needs volunteers to help restore this vulnerable creek side habitat on Saturday, November 23 from 10 am to 2 pm.  Volunteers will be planting California native species and removing trash.

Everyone interested in volunteering should meet at the Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area at 10am wearing closed toe shoes and long pants. We will be out there rain or shine so dress for variable weather.

  • RSVP to ensure a lunch to volunteerprogram@marinwater.org
  • Tools, water, snacks, and lunch will be provided.
  • Youth aged 8 and older can volunteer however, if under the age of 18 they must have a permission form signed by a parent or guardian.
Detailed Driving Directions:
The Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area is located along Lagunitas Creek in West Marin.  From Highway 101, take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd exit and head west.  Travel about 9 miles, through Greenbrae, Kentfield, Ross, San Anselmo, Fairfax, and out to the San Geronimo Valley.  Continue west for about 5 more miles, past the San Geronimo Golf Course and past the towns of Woodacre, San Geronimo, Forest Knolls, and Lagunitas.  Cross over Shafter Bridge and immediately turn left, into the Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area Parking lot.  If you pass the sign on the right for Samuel P. Taylor State Park you have gone too far.
Limited parking spaces available so carpooling is encouraged!
