Roy's Redwoods

This is a Healthy Parks, Healthy People event. We’ll start in the big meadow surrounded by towering redwoods and head up into a mixed forest to look for birds, bugs, berries and whatever small wonders we encounter. We’ll settle in for lunch among the madrones and oaks along the David Hansen Loop Trail before we head back down and meander among the giant trunks of the redwoods looking for owl pellets as we go. This walk is for ages 15 and up. We request that no animals (except service animals) attend. High fire danger may cancel: Call (415) 893-9527 after 7am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. David Herlocker will lead. Questions: Contact David at (415) 893-9508 or DHerlocker@marincounty.org. Meet at the Roy’s Redwoods Loop trailhead on Nicasio Valley Rd in San Geronimo. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take exit 450B for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 8.6 miles, turn right onto Nicasio Valley Rd. Gate is approximately 0.5 mile up on the right.
