SAAC Presents: Picnic on the Plaza with the Tik Tax and MOBB

Searching for a fun, family-friendly way to spend a summer evening? Come on downtown to San Anselmo for Picnics on the Plaza! The San Anselmo Arts Commission is proud to sponsor the August 8th installment of Picnics on the Plaza featuring the music of Ross Valley teen bands the Tik Tax and MOBB.
The Tik Tax is a Marin County based girls rock band consisting of Lena Kyle (bass), Zoe Vavrek (keyboards), Sam Shapiro (drums/vocals) and Hayley Newman (vocals, guitar).  They are 8th and 9th graders from Cascade Canyon School and Drake High School.  The Tik Tax formed in September of 2010.  They are mentored by Tom Finch.
They began with covers of 80's songs made by female musicians - GoGo's, Pat Benatar, Bangles, etc.  Now they are adding to the mix some covers of more contemporary tunes and they have a couple of original songs.  They have performed at The Sleeping Lady in Fairfax, Cascade Canyon School Variety Show, KickIt, The Yes Fest, Earth Day Marin, Octoberfest, The Red House in Forest Knolls, The EcoFest at the Fairfax Festival, the Marin County Fair and more.
MOBB is a Marin County- based youth rock band consisting of singer Noah Mohan, guitarist Raleigh O'Brien, bassist Milo Brooks, and drummer Adam Brodsky. They've been playing together since May 2012 and their natural on-stage chemistry and hard driving rock is what makes this band a stand out.  MOBB is coached by their manager/mentor, Sonny Walker.  As of now, MOBB has released their first EP, MOBB, produced by Sonny Walker, mixed by Dusty Circuits and recorded at The Church. In March 2014, MOBB surprised everyone when they raised the roof of the San Rafael HeadsUp Battle of the Band, walking away with runner up.
