San Anselmo Arts Commission to Sponsor Free Music in the Park Concert Series Throughout the month of August

The San Anselmo Arts Commission is excited to announce the line-up for the Music in the Park free concert series, which takes place in Creek Park on all five Sundays in August from 3pm to 6pm. This year’s series starts on August 3rd with the “Rowan Brothers Band” and will run through August 31st closing with “Danny Click”. The Line-up is as follows:

August 3rd: Rowan Brothers Band
The revered American country-rock group the Rowan Brothers, has been part of the west coast music scene since the early 70’s. They continue to offer a versatile and exciting mixture of Americana roots, rock, country, bluegrass, with modern day Everly Brothers style sibling harmony.

August 10th: Steep Ravine
Steep Ravine is an acoustic quartet hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. Their unique sound, equal parts poetic lyricism and string-playing ingenuity, bends folk and bluegrass in compelling new directions.

August 17th: King & Ace
Madeleine King & Rick Meissner come together to create this sweet 'n' salty musical blend. Playing mostly originals with a good sprinkling of great covers thrown in for good measure, King & Ace will leave you with that "Mmm, I need more of this" feeling!

August 24th: West Grand Boulevard
West Grand Boulevard specializes in classic Motown, R&B, and Soul hits. Performing the popular music of influential artists like Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, James Brown, Michael Jackson and more, West Grand Boulevard is a great way to get a crowd of any age or size up onto the dance floor.

August 31st: Danny Click
Danny Click’s sound is a refreshing return to smart, sassy blues-inflected country rock. Think Tom Petty crossed with Wilco, spiced with the southern tradition of Lucinda Williams and John Hiatt. Add to that Click’s searing guitar, reminiscent of Stevie Ray and David Lindley, and you’ve got at least part of the picture. Then there are Click’s live shows; an anything-can-happen mix of stellar songwriting alternating with blistering blues-rock which makes for a rockin’ good time!

All Music in the Park Sunday concerts are free to the public and begin at 3pm and end at 6pm. Creek Park is located at the “Hub” in San Anselmo. Bring your family, a picnic and blanket and enjoy an afternoon of music in the park.
(Service dogs only)
