Hope for Water

Inspired by the feeling her kids could use a bit more global understanding and perspective, Fairfax mother Stephanie Hellman recently reached out to EcoMom Alliance Founder Kimberly Danek Pinkson with the idea of doing an event around world water issues.

The result is “Hope for Clean Water” a family-friendly, experiential learning event to not only bring clean water to families in need, but also, to teach children in our community about how a seemingly simple thing like filling a glass of fresh water from the faucet, is actually a huge gift.

“I wanted to create a fun and engaging learning opportunity for young people in our community to help them understand how incredibly fortunate we are.  A basic thing like a glass of clean water is something so many people around the world do not have. I am thrilled to be partnered with Ecomom Alliance in promoting this event for our local community of kids and for the global communities who are desperately in need of clean water.”

At the event, attendees will enjoy presentations from Blue Planet Network and Global Fund for Women, and see what it feels like to carry a water jug on their head! The goal for this event is to bring 200 families in the Nadia district of West Bengal, India, fresh water with sponsorship of the building of 5 bore-dugwells.
