Compost Giveaway for Fairfax Residents

Marin Sanitary Services delivers free compost to Fairfax residents this Saturday.

Give your garden a boost with FREE compost available to Fairfax residents this Saturday at the Fairfax Pavilion parking lot.  This is the first of three deliveries scheduled by Marin Sanitary Services (MSS) in accordance with a contract approved by the Fairfax Town Council in December of last year.

Bring a bag or container to transport the compost. Shovels should be available at the site, or feel free to bring your own.

Assume this is cancelled due to rain...didn't see anyone there this morning.

The delivery was made on Friday evening since rain was forecasted for Saturday. The compost went fast! It was in a bin near the parking lot at the fence to the baseball field. There was still a little left when I checked at noon on Saturday. There will be two more deliveries this year, and we will give everyone a heads up on PATCH and on the Sustainable Fairfax bulletin board at the Good Earth (near the bakery).
