Pancakes, Parade, Food and Fun!

San Anselmo celebrates on Sept. 25.

A day of eating, a day of marching in the parade, a day of family fun!

That's what San Anselmo's Country Fair Day, on Sunday, Sept. 25, is all about. This San Anselmo tradition brings together friends and neighbors for a day of good times and fun.

Of course, the day starts at 7 a.m. with the Firemen's Pancake Breakfast. The price is right and the food is great! Then wander down the avenue, check out the booths and have some fun. Booths open at 10 a.m.

Get this for fun: bounce houses, an obstacle course, and big slide in the little kids' area -- have your face painted too. Then, cross the street and slosh around in the foam pit or roll along the avenue in a hamster cage?? An interactive game van will attract all ages. You can even drive the Giant Robot! How cool is that?

And the food. Don't even get me started about the food. I'll be hosting the Sno- Cone booth in front of Town Hall, will be doing their apple cider demonstration -- guaranteed you'll want more than one glass. There'll be carmeled apples, cookies, chocolate, and some of 's vendors distributing their wares.

At , join the action: southern barbecued sausages, ' Chi-Chi salad, 's famous burgers AND milkshakes (yum!). Back by popular demand,The Royal Order of the Oyster once again brings their bbq-d oysters and corn too. Burn my clothes, I've gone to heaven. And, of course, soft drinks, wine and beer (thanks to ).

All this is available while you sit and watch Tim Cain (noon) and then Rusty Evans with his Johnny Cash cover band Ring of Fire belting it out from 1 to 4 p.m. -- all this in Creek Park.

Thanks to Carla Overberger and her team, our fantastic parade barrels down San Anselmo Avenue at 11 a.m. Wave or walk? Up to you.

It's going to be a great day. Much work and many volunteers.

Bouquets to everyone involved. ♥
